Hi, Im Pete.

Born in Birmingham i lived in Newcastle Under Lyme for about 6 years, i left there for a short stint in Rochdale before returning to Halesowen. I attended Windsor High School, and King Edwards VI.

Upon finishing my A levels i decided that Uni wasnt for me so started work as a photocopier engineer. This quickly evolved into network installation, and eventually network support/ administration.  Whilst working for G2 Digital Technology i aquired an interest in programming, initially in VB6. This was honed whilst working at Barsby Rowe/ billetts, leading me in to a role at Tempus Computers Ltd working on their main occupational health software producy “Cohort”

Whilst working at Tempus, i have been lucky enough to develop skills in VB/ asp.net v2003, 2005 and now 2008 along with PHP, MySQL, and MSSQL

Im currently enjoying running, ski’ing and have always enjoyed motorbikes.

Born in ‘nam…..  Cheltenham!   I lived there most of my life, with my folks and older sister, following in her footsteps and attending the rather posh Pates Grammar School (we had a moat – but alas no pirates!)  I don’t think I really ’shined’ at Pates (I think some people shined so bright it blinded the rest of us) – but went on to study Marketing at University.  I think this was inspired by having the best looking teachers at school teaching business studies, so I think I was trying to impress them!  Anyway (ahem) it turned out pretty well – I got a 2:! from Glamorgan University and started a career in media consulting.  I worked over 7 years, at a company that started out as Barsby Rowe – then became billetts, where I worked on clients such as Boots and Cadbury – and I met Pete… and then due to a takeover, we both split and I went down a marketing path.  I learnt a lot whilst I strayed from media onto the marketing road – covering a marketing manager’s maternity leave and holding the fort at a large healthcare IT comany.  I then did a stint at a market research agency, but didn’t enjoy that at all – so moved back into marketing, for a small property investment company.  I learnt a lot, mainly in digital communications and SEO with the website.  Then the credit crunch hit – and I could not see a healthy future at that company.  I moved back across to media consulting, working with old colleagues and bringing my new skills to the the table.  That is where I am!  www.slikmedia.co.uk (couldn’t resist a link opportunity!)

Pete and I were married on 30th September 2005 – such a lovely day   We had a Lord of the Rings inspired theme, mulled wine – and I specially wore a mulled wine coloured dress so if I spilt the mulled wine – no-one would notice!  Pete and I have had a lot of fun together, we really enjoy taking on challenges together, ski-ing, visiting my mum and now running!  We belong to Kenilworth Runners – a cracking club, and really supportive and friendly.  We live in Warwick, we have a CASTLE!!   We also love ROCK, avid listeners of Planet Rock and we really enjoyed Iron Maiden at Twikenham this year, as well as Nightwish and Opeth at the Acadamy.
